Axel's take: 7.9/10

A practical airport stopover with a worthwhile breakfast, but small rooms and noise trade-offs. A no-frills 3-star airport hotel built from shipping containers, scored for what it is.

Container Inn is a no-frills 3-star near Puerto Vallarta’s airport and bus terminal, built from recycled shipping containers. It’s a good pick for a short transit stay rather than a beach vacation. Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the helpful staff, generally clean rooms and included hot breakfast—the strongest reasons to choose it over somewhere equally basic.

The container design means compact standard rooms: the hotel lists them at just 15 square meters. Noise from traffic, corridors and neighboring rooms recurs in guest feedback, although not everyone finds it disruptive. Ask for a room away from the road, without expecting silence. We’d choose it for an overnight connection; light sleepers and travelers wanting beaches or downtown restaurants on their doorstep should look elsewhere.

• Best for: Overnight airport connections; Budget-conscious short stays; Travelers using the bus terminal

• Watch out for: Compact standard rooms; Traffic and corridor noise; Removed from downtown and beaches

• Location: Convenient for airport and bus-terminal access; less useful for a walkable beach or downtown stay.

• Rooms: Air-conditioned container rooms; standards are 15 square meters, with larger suites available.

• Cleanliness: Generally positive across Booking.com and Expedia, despite occasional negative reports.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are one of the most consistent strengths across guest reviews.

• Amenities: Included hot breakfast, free Wi-Fi, restaurant and rooftop terrace keep the offering practical.

• Fees and surprises: Free parking is subject to availability; confirm late-arrival arrangements directly.
