Hotels in Myrtle BeachAn upscale beachfront timeshare resort with apartment-style suites
8.4/10
Spacious beachfront suites make a strong family base, but neighboring construction compromises the escape.
Ocean 22 is an upscale beachfront timeshare resort, and it's a strong pick for families who want apartment practicality rather than full-service luxury. One- to three-bedroom suites have full kitchens and washer-dryers, making longer stays easier. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise the spacious, clean accommodations, ocean views and friendly staff. Direct beach access and two pools round out a convincing family setup.
The biggest current drawback is construction of Ocean Reserve next door, scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2028; recent guests report disruptive noise. Elevator waits also recur in reviews, and self-parking means walking to a separate garage. Expect a daily resort charge, limited on-site dining and possible timeshare sales invitations. We'd skip it for a quiet retreat, but shortlist it for a self-catering beach holiday.
