Axel's take: 8.5/10
A strong family beach base, but current renovations make quiet stays a gamble. an upscale beachfront vacation-ownership resort with two-bedroom villas, scored for what it is.
OceanWatch is an upscale vacation-ownership resort, not a conventional luxury hotel, and it's a strong pick for families wanting space and beach time. Two-bedroom villas offer full kitchens, washer-dryers and balconies; multiple pools and children's activities give everyone room to spread out. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the grounds, spacious accommodations and helpful staff, with recent Expedia reviews particularly positive about cleanliness.
The biggest caveat right now is interior and exterior villa renovation, scheduled September 6, 2026–February 20, 2027. Marriott warns of daytime construction noise and expects amenities to remain open. Woodsy villas sit farther from the sand than Seaside villas, so book the view and setting carefully. Parking costs extra, housekeeping is every other day, and checkout is at 10 a.m. We'd skip it during construction if peaceful daytime lounging is essential.
