Search flights and hotels with your AI assistant

Updated

AI assistants with web browsing can search live flight prices and hotel rates on Axel by following links.

No sign-in, API key, connector, or interaction with Axel’s chat is required to search.

Search live prices

Constructed or edited addresses may be rejected before any request reaches Axel, even when valid. For your own web-tool research, follow the complete links supplied by Axel exactly as returned; use their links to edit the trip. Choose the route or hotel destination, dates, and travelers using the links provided. Results include flight prices or hotel rates for that trip. Follow the available links to refine the search. If the traveler hasn’t supplied dates, ask for them first.

Choose a trip

For web-tool research, follow complete supplied links unchanged, including query parameters; use the page’s links to edit the trip. Constructed URLs may be rejected before reaching Axel. If a link fails or flight details lack usable links, reopen the preceding page and follow the same choice once. Keep refreshed links unchanged and preserve the trip and selections. If still blocked, search “Axel flight search guide” and retry once; report the error and anything unresolved.

Use the chooser’s airports and dates, including one-way trips; the default is one adult, economy, any stops. Edit travelers, cabin and stops supports other traveler types, economy or business, stop limits and weekday restrictions, up to nine travelers; each lap infant needs an adult.

A fresh trip opens results first. Use Add or change known travel requirements to save stated flexibility and budget to the same plan. Do not infer requirements from your starting search; leave unstated restrictions unknown. Use a bundle only when every part matches. Explicit airport lists need no separate nearby-airports permission. Edits create a new snapshot without changing earlier links; use the updated plan’s results and review links. Editing a saved trip returns to its requirements without starting another search.

Destinations and months is another starting point.

Compare dates

Flexible dates accepts a departure window plus a return window or stay length/range; one-way trips need only departure dates. Each batch checks up to nine valid date pairs across the window, preserving the route, party and saved requirements. Use Compare more dates in this window or edit the windows. A sampled price is not the cheapest across unchecked dates.

Compare dates on results respects saved date windows and stay length:

  • Departure ±3 days (default): fixed return.
  • Return ±3 days: fixed departure.
  • Both dates ±3 days: departure/return combinations; lengths may differ unless a stay length is saved.
  • Same weekdays ±1 week: shift the trip, preserving length and weekdays.

These compare the shown dates, not a whole month. Pending prices are not unavailable flights: follow Refresh comparison or an exact-date search link. If checks are deferred, use exact results; repeated refreshes will not start more checks. Open promising dates to select flights and confirm the complete price.

Select flights and hand over

Round trips start with checked complete trips when available. Links offer different returns, airlines, times and the full outbound list; otherwise each outbound links to its return choices. Results are a selection of matching flights, so missing results do not establish unavailability.

Prices are in USD for the whole party. A complete-trip or return-choice total covers both journeys; an outbound starting price is that outbound with its lowest return. Airline prices are the same flights on Google Flights.

Review this trip, selecting a return, or selecting a one-way flight saves that itinerary and its price as a quote with a customer link. Choose a complete itinerary (outbound and return for a round trip), then share the supplied customer booking link unchanged. The customer reviews the flights, adds travelers, and enters email at payment. Do not collect email in chat. Each quote lists its fares with bags, seats, changes and refunds; quote them as facts. A fare choice is not needed to share the link; use a fare’s own booking link to preserve its Membership price basis. Ask only for essential missing trip details. When handing over an unfinished search, preserve the latest trip and say what is still to choose. The selected-flight page lists each fare’s bags, seats, changes and refunds, the customer links and browser checkout instructions.

Prices and booking

Regular Axel prices can be booked without Membership. Available Member fares are shown alongside them with the first-month charge included in the new-Member total. Optional Axel Membership, $15 the first month, then $10/month, cancel anytime, takes the same flights below these prices and adds hotel discounts and automatic repricing when fares drop after booking. It covers everyone on the booking and is built for people who travel often; most Axel travelers book with a free account.

When handing over, prefer a supplied fare, complete-itinerary or saved-plan link matching the traveler's latest trip. If none matches, construct this existing search address. Never borrow an older quote's dates. Continue useful research through supplied links.

Examples only—replace dates and facts:

Use IATA airport codes. For one way replace /return/YYYY-MM-DD with /trip/oneway. Optional path fields: /children/N/seat-infants/N/lap-infants/N/cabin/economy (or business), /stops/0 (nonstop required; 1 or 2 is a maximum), /airline/UA (required). Flexible dates: /dates/flexible/depart-through/YYYY-MM-DD/return-through/YYYY-MM-DD, or /stay-min/N/stay-max/N; weekday restrictions: /depart-weekdays/0,1 and /return-weekdays/4,5 (Monday=0).

Omit unknown fields. Axel collects missing essentials; complete links open Flight Guide and start searching automatically with the trip and preferences.

Optional query fields:

  • depart_after, depart_before, return_depart_after, return_depart_before: inclusive local HH:MM departure times; an end before start means overnight.
  • arrive_by, return_by: local arrival deadlines, e.g. arrive_by=2026-11-18T15%3A00 (actual trip date, no timezone suffix). arrival_buffer_minutes / return_buffer_minutes (0–10080) subtract from the deadline.
  • budget_target_cents / budget_limit_cents: whole-party USD totals in cents, both directions for round trips. budget_limit_cents=80000 is an $800 USD ceiling; target is a preference ≤ ceiling. Never reinterpret another currency as USD.
  • search_choices: URL-encoded JSON, e.g. {"fare_preferences":{"carry_on":true}}. Other fare_preferences: checked_bags (0–2 per ticketed traveler each way), seat_selection, changes, refunds (booleans). Per-leg outbound / returning: stops (nonstop, one, twoPlus), airline_only, avoided_airlines (names/codes list).
  • note: up to 300 characters of traveler-stated preferences. Keep “prefer nonstop” here, not /stops/0. Exclude contact details, identity/payment data and private reasons.

Aim below 1,000 encoded URL characters, preferably below 2,000 including tracking: portability guidance, not a browser/GPT maximum or rejection threshold. Percent-encoding expands text. Shorten optional prose first; never truncate a URL, change dates or silently drop requirements. Explain anything omitted for the traveler to add in Axel.

Give the clickable link directly to the traveler. Do not open or “validate” it with your web tool first: it may reject constructed URLs before reaching Axel. That does not establish a broken customer link. Describe a prefilled search with recorded preferences; flights, prices and fare inclusions remain unverified.
