8.9/10
Strong hotels, seafront walks and elegant façades provide the best luxury setting; traffic means a waterfront address need not be quiet.

The western side of central Nice is the most rounded choice for a beach-and-city break. Between Boulevard Victor Hugo, Rue de France and the Promenade, you get elegant façades, boutiques and easy seaside walks without living inside the Old Town's late-night lanes. Villa Masséna adds a cultural stop, and Rue Masséna's pedestrian restaurant strip keeps evenings simple.
