Questions families ask
Should we book two queen beds or two double beds?
Two queens give each pair more sleeping width, especially useful with older children. Hôtel St-Thomas, Uville, Honeyrose, Alt and Best Western Plus all have confirmed four-person queen configurations. Quality Inn Centre-Ville and Hotel St-Denis use smaller double beds. At St-Denis, the additional sofa bed does not increase the room’s stated four-person occupancy.
How much space do four people need?
Around 300–330 square feet can work if you mainly sleep in the room: Quality Inn, Best Western Plus and Alt fall in that range. For more floor space, Hôtel St-Thomas offers 500 square feet and Honeyrose’s two-queen category averages 482. Le Roberval provides an enclosed bedroom, but two people use the living-room sofa bed.
Can we add a crib or rollaway to a room for four?
Do not assume an extra bed is allowed just because the room sleeps four. Honeyrose prohibits rollaways; Quality Inn, St-Denis and Le Roberval do not offer them. Quality Inn and Alt list free cribs on request, while Le Roberval lists them for ages zero to two. Confirm availability and whether a crib changes permitted occupancy before booking.
How much more does a room for four cost?
There is no reliable same-night comparison here between a four-person room and each hotel’s cheapest room for two, so a family-room premium cannot be stated. For lower overall costs, start with Quality Inn, Le Roberval or Best Western Plus. Included breakfast at Quality Inn and Le Roberval can help; compare parking and breakfast inclusions before deciding.
Which Montreal neighborhood works best for a family sharing one room?
Old Montreal suits walking to historic sights and the waterfront; Uville is a useful base there. The Quartier Latin offers Berri-UQAM metro access and lower-cost options. Quartier des Spectacles is central but can be noisy. Plateau Mont-Royal suits parks and neighborhood restaurants, while Griffintown works well for canal walks. Downtown offers shopping and higher-end hotel facilities.
