Questions families ask
Should we book two queens or two doubles for four people?
Two queens give each pair more sleeping width. Hotel Santa Fe offers two queens, while Villa del Arco and Grand Velas require you to confirm that configuration rather than a king. Tropicana, Hotel Colli and Fairfield use smaller doubles. Grand Solmar is different again: its Grand Studio has a king and a fold-down queen Murphy bed, not two doubles.
Can a crib or rollaway solve the sleeping arrangements?
Do not assume an extra bed is available or increases the room’s occupancy limit. Hacienda lists free cribs on request, while Grand Solmar lists cribs for a fee. Tropicana lists neither cribs nor rollaways. Sirena del Mar lists a Pack ’n Play, but availability needs confirmation. Give the hotel every child’s age and request any equipment before arrival.
How much more does a room for four cost?
The difference varies considerably by room and meal plan. Santa Fe and Grand Solmar show relatively modest increases over their cheapest rooms for two, while Grand Velas and Sirena del Mar’s penthouse require substantially larger upgrades. Hacienda’s two-bedroom residence shows no increase in that comparison, but remains a premium option overall. Compare the full four-person booking and meal inclusions.
Which area works best for a family sharing one room?
Cabo San Lucas Downtown & Marina suits lower-cost stays and walking to restaurants; Santa Fe has a kitchen. Médano Beach combines beachfront stays with town access, especially at Hacienda. San José’s Historic Center suits galleries and plaza outings rather than beach days. The Tourist Corridor and Cabo Bello offer resort space but generally require rides for exploring.
Which rooms give us space after the children go to bed?
Hacienda’s two-bedroom residence and Sirena del Mar’s two-bedroom penthouse provide separate bedrooms and living areas. At both, children can share a bed; Sirena also has a living-room sofa bed if they need separate sleeping surfaces. Grand Velas is spacious but open-plan, while Grand Solmar and Villa del Arco are studios, so extra floor space does not mean bedroom privacy.
