For central value, choose BED in Athens in Monastiraki & Psyri; its Loft has two double beds. Filon in Piraeus & Coast is the lowest-cost option, best for ferries. For the Acropolis, try 11 Enteka Acropolis Suites in Koukaki & Makrygianni. Crowne Plaza in Kolonaki offers easy metro access. For maximum space, Hotel Grande Bretagne in Plaka & Syntagma has a two-bedroom suite, rather than one shared bedroom.

Questions families ask
Will we get two queen beds, two doubles, or separate beds for the children?
Do not assume a quadruple room means two queens. Crowne Plaza lists two doubles, while BED in Athens describes its Loft as two doubles despite some listings calling them queens. Filon gives children two separate single beds. At 11 Enteka, both children share a double sofa bed. Confirm the exact arrangement if separate beds matter.
Can we add a crib or rollaway when four of us share?
Ask about the exact room, not just the hotel's general policy. Several hotels offer free cribs on request, but availability and room limits still apply. Filon charges for cribs. Rollaways are unavailable at 11 Enteka, Filon, Piraeus City and Argo. Elsewhere, an available extra bed does not automatically mean a fifth guest is permitted.
Does a room for four always cost much more than a room for two?
Not always: Piraeus City's family room can be comparable to its cheapest room for two. Larger suites can carry a substantial premium, especially at The Margi. For most hotels here, a reliable same-night comparison is unavailable. Compare the total for two adults and both children's ages, then check breakfast, crib charges and locally collected accommodation taxes.
Which Athens neighborhoods work best with children sharing one room?
Monastiraki & Psyri suits walking and metro trips, though nightlife can interrupt sleep. Koukaki & Makrygianni puts the Acropolis Museum and Akropoli metro close by. Plaka & Syntagma is convenient for major sights. Kolonaki works well if you use the metro. Choose Piraeus for ferries, or Glyfada and Vouliagmeni for beach time rather than doorstep sightseeing.
Are these all one shared bedroom, or do some have separate sleeping spaces?
The Loft at BED in Athens and the rooms at Crowne Plaza and Filon keep everyone in one shared room. Some alternatives are single booked suites with multiple sleeping spaces: Grande Bretagne, Palmyra Beach and Argo have two bedrooms, while The Margi spans two levels with internal stairs. Choose a shared-bedroom option if keeping everyone together is essential.
