A strong airport stopover, with friendly staff and a few comfort compromises. A practical 3-star airport hotel with a restaurant and outdoor pool, scored for what it is.

This practical 3-star beside Tucson International Airport is a strong pick for an overnight before or after flying. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise clean, comfortable rooms and helpful staff, while the restaurant and bar make staying put easy. Free parking, an outdoor pool, a hot tub and rooms with microwaves and mini-fridges give it more substance than a basic airport crash pad. The renovation was announced complete in January 2023; don't read “newly renovated” as a brand-new makeover.

The main compromises are small bathrooms and occasional reports of overhead noise or uneven breakfast service. Breakfast isn't automatically included, and the free airport shuttle runs from 4 a.m. to 11 p.m., not around the clock. We'd choose it for flight convenience rather than a walkable Tucson vacation.

• Best for: Overnight airport stopovers; Business travelers with a car; Travelers wanting an on-site restaurant

• Watch out for: Small bathrooms; Occasional noise from upstairs; Limited shuttle hours; breakfast costs extra

• Location: Excellent for the airport; a car is useful for exploring Tucson.

• Rooms: Generally comfortable and well equipped, but bathrooms can feel cramped.

• Cleanliness: Recent reviews lean strongly positive, despite some individual housekeeping complaints.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a recurring strength; breakfast service is less consistent.

• Amenities: Outdoor pool, hot tub, 24-hour gym, SOL Bar & Grill and free airport shuttle.

• Fees and surprises: Parking is complimentary; breakfast is normally extra, pets incur a fee, and housekeeping is every other day.
