Axel's take: 8.5/10
A dependable Akihabara base that puts convenience ahead of space. a practical mid-range business hotel beside Akihabara Station, scored for what it is.
Akihabara Washington is a practical mid-range business hotel, and a strong pick if easy train connections matter more than sprawling rooms. JR Akihabara Station’s central gate is about a minute away, with shops and restaurants close by. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise the location, cleanliness and helpful staff; the breakfast buffet also earns enthusiastic mentions. This is a hotel for getting out and exploring, rather than making the hotel itself your destination.
Space is the main compromise: standard doubles measure 15 square meters, and guests repeatedly mention awkward suitcase storage. Twins offer more breathing room at 21 square meters. The hotel’s 2026 lobby refresh should not be mistaken for a full bedroom renovation. Book a non-smoking room deliberately, since smoking categories remain available. We’d skip it for a spacious family stay or a luxury escape.
-
