Hotels in Tokyoan independent 5-star luxury hotel beside the Imperial Palace moat
9.4/10
Exceptional service and palace-garden views make this a standout for quiet Tokyo luxury.
Palace Hotel Tokyo is an independent 5-star beside the Imperial Palace moat, and a strong pick for travelers who want calm rather than scene-making luxury. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests consistently praise immaculate rooms, thoughtful staff and excellent breakfasts; Booking.com’s ratings reinforce that picture. Rooms start at a generous 45 square meters, and a balcony category makes particularly good use of the leafy outlook. The underground connection to Otemachi station keeps this peaceful setting practical.
The trade-off is atmosphere: we’d skip it if nightlife outside the door matters more than gardens and polished hospitality. Check breakfast inclusions and don’t assume every spa facility is complimentary. January visitors should note scheduled power and service interruptions on January 6–7, 2027, and the indoor pool closure January 18–23, reopening at 3 p.m.
