Axel's take: 7.6/10

Choose it for the seafront location, not consistently polished five-star service. A long-established five-star seafront hotel with mixed room styles, scored for what it is.

Dan Tel Aviv is a long-established five-star hotel whose strongest asset is its promenade location beside Frishman Beach. We'd shortlist it for a beach-and-city break, particularly in a newer Executive sea-view room. Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the location, comfortable accommodation and breakfast, while many recent reviews single out helpful staff.

The luxury experience is less consistent: Tripadvisor and Expedia reviews describe dated rooms, maintenance shortcomings and uneven reception or breakfast service alongside enthusiastic praise. Room category matters here. Crucially, the hotel's published notice schedules outdoor and children's pool renovations from October 4, 2026, through April 4, 2027; confirm arrangements directly, as its facilities pages are inconsistent. The indoor heated pool is listed separately. We'd skip it for a pool-led holiday during those works, or if seamless luxury service is your priority.

• Best for: Beach-and-city breaks; Travelers booking newer sea-view rooms; Guests who prioritize location and breakfast

• Watch out for: Scheduled outdoor and children's pool renovation closures; Older and newer rooms differ substantially; Uneven five-star service

• Location: Excellent promenade position beside Frishman Beach, with cafés and restaurants nearby.

• Rooms: Newer Executive sea-view rooms attract praise; older rooms draw recurring dated-condition complaints.

• Cleanliness: Generally positive overall ratings, but some recent guests report housekeeping lapses.

• Service: Many warm staff mentions, balanced by repeated reception and breakfast-service complaints.

• Amenities: Heated indoor pool, spa and gym listed; confirm outdoor pool renovation arrangements before booking.

• Fees and surprises: Parking costs extra and is availability-dependent; Saturday and final Jewish-holiday check-in starts at 6 p.m.; lounge access depends on the booking.
