6.5/10
Come for the beach, but confirm the building and temper your room expectations.
St. Pete Shores is a casual 3-star beachfront resort whose strongest selling points are the sand, pools and space to spread out—not polished rooms. We'd consider it for a beach-first family trip with flexible expectations. Expedia guests often praise helpful staff, roomy suites and easy beach access, although Booking.com's overall feedback is considerably weaker.
The important distinction: the supplied Hilton website belongs to sister property Sirata, not a guarantee of renovated Hilton accommodation at St. Pete Shores. Guests on several sites describe dated rooms, uneven housekeeping and confusion over room assignments. Construction around the shared resort site also disrupted stays in 2026; confirm remaining work and your exact building before booking. Resort fees, paid parking and beach-chair rentals add friction. We'd skip it for a reliably fresh room or a quiet, hassle-free resort break.

Best for: beach-first families; travelers prioritizing space over polish
Watch out for: Sirata versus St. Pete Shores booking confusion; dated rooms and inconsistent housekeeping; resort-site construction; confirm current disruption
Location: Directly on St. Pete Beach, with nearby restaurants; this is not Tampa proper.
Rooms: Spacious suites appeal, but repeated reports describe worn furnishings and dated bathrooms; confirm the building and view.
Cleanliness: Mixed: many clean-room reports, alongside recurring complaints about bathroom grime and incomplete housekeeping.
Service: Friendly staff earn substantial praise, but room allocation, communication and follow-through are inconsistent.
Amenities: Beach access, outdoor pools, children's splash facilities and dining are the main draws; verify current access.
Fees and surprises: Resort fee and paid parking apply; beach loungers cost extra, and the supplied Hilton link identifies sister property Sirata.
