This full-service 4-star is in downtown St. Petersburg—not Tampa—and we'd choose it for sightseeing rather than a polished hotel experience. The Dalí Museum, Mahaffey Theater and waterfront are close by, with restaurants within walking distance. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, while the courtyard pool adds appeal beyond the location. It's a practical base, not a beach resort.
The compromise is inconsistent upkeep: recent reviews describe dated rooms, small bathrooms and maintenance niggles, alongside plenty of clean, comfortable stays.
