This historic 3-star Courtyard is a good downtown St. Petersburg base—not a Tampa hotel or beach resort. Housed in the former Pennsylvania Hotel, it offers more character than a standard chain property. We'd pick it for exploring restaurants, museums and the waterfront on foot. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise helpful staff and clean, comfortable rooms; Marriott says guestrooms have been refreshed.
The trade-offs are sleep quality and extras. Guests on both sites report traffic or room-to-room noise, and some still find the building dated despite its updates.
