#5 of 9 hotels in Taipei Main Station by Axel's take. Taipei Main Station is #3 of 9 places to stay in Taipei. The best hotels in Taipei Main Station, ranked · Where to stay in Taipei
Axel's take: 7.9/10
Strong on location, breakfast and service, but dated rooms and construction temper the appeal. A large, established five-star business hotel in central Taipei, scored for what it is.
Sheraton Grand Taipei is a large, established five-star business hotel beside Shandao Temple MRT, one stop from Taipei Main Station. It's a strong pick for convenient sightseeing and substantial breakfasts rather than cutting-edge luxury. Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, comfortable beds and clean rooms; the extensive dining options are another strength.
The trade-offs matter at this level: some rooms feel dated, and recent Tripadvisor guests describe crowded lounge service and timed happy hours. The hotel confirms main-entrance construction through October 30, 2026, affecting vehicle access; guests also reported nearby construction noise in September. We'd skip it for a quiet luxury escape while those disruptions remain. Families should note that the club lounge excludes children under 12, and the outdoor pool closes in January and February.
-
Best for: Business travelers wanting central transport; Sightseers who prioritize MRT access; Travelers who enjoy substantial hotel breakfasts
-
Watch out for: Entrance works through October 30, 2026; nearby construction noise also reported; Dated rooms and busy club lounge; Lounge restricted to ages 12 and up
-
Location: Beside Shandao Temple MRT, one stop from Taipei Main Station: a practical base for exploring.
-
Rooms: Comfortable beds and generally well-kept rooms, but dated finishes fall short of fresh five-star luxury.
-
Cleanliness: A consistent strength in Expedia reviews, with a 9.0 cleanliness rating.
-
Service: Helpful, welcoming staff earn frequent praise, though some guests report uneven check-in and complaint handling.
-
Amenities: Extensive dining, gym, sauna and a seasonal outdoor pool; the pool closes in January and February.
-
Fees and surprises: Parking is complimentary; a deposit applies, breakfast depends on the booking, and entrance works may alter vehicle access.
