#4 of 9 hotels in Taipei Main Station by Axel's take. Taipei Main Station is #3 of 9 places to stay in Taipei. The best hotels in Taipei Main Station, ranked · Where to stay in Taipei

Axel's take: 8.2/10

A strong budget base for exploring Taipei, provided you can live with thin walls. a simple budget hotel near Taipei Main Station, scored for what it is.

APause Inn is a simple budget hotel in a shared commercial building near Taipei Main Station, and it's a strong pick for travelers who prioritize transport and value over space. Booking.com, Expedia and recent Klook guests broadly agree on the essentials: convenient surroundings, generally clean rooms and helpful staff. The shared lounge, drinking water, tea and coffee add practical comforts without pretending this is a full-service hotel.

The compromises are worth taking seriously. Entry-level rooms can be tiny and windowless, while thin walls draw complaints on both Tripadvisor and Expedia. Guests also repeatedly flag the disposable towels, although conventional towels are available. Check-in is listed from 4 p.m., with reception closing at 11 p.m.; confirm arrangements before a late arrival. We'd skip it for light sleepers or anyone wanting room to spread out.

  • Best for: budget-minded city explorers; travelers using Taipei Main Station; short stays with light luggage

  • Watch out for: thin walls and neighboring-room noise; small, windowless entry-level rooms; limited reception hours

  • Location: A short walk from Taipei Main Station, with plentiful food and shopping nearby.

  • Rooms: Simple private-bathroom rooms; check size and window status carefully before booking.

  • Cleanliness: Generally praised across recent reviews, though housekeeping during longer stays gets occasional criticism.

  • Service: Helpful front-desk staff are a recurring strength; reception is not staffed overnight.

  • Amenities: Shared lounge, complimentary drinks, laundry facilities and a modest gym are listed.

  • Fees and surprises: Laundry is coin-operated; disposable towels are standard, with conventional towels available.
