Shangri-La Far Eastern is a traditional five-star high-rise in Da’an, strongest on space, service and skyline views rather than contemporary design. Recent Expedia, Tripadvisor and Trip.com guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, clean rooms and the extensive breakfast. The heated rooftop pool is a genuine draw, and we’d choose a specifically labeled Taipei 101-view room if the outlook matters.

The trade-offs are older-style interiors and a location that suits a quieter neighborhood stay better than doorstep sightseeing; the MRT is roughly seven to ten minutes away on foot. Some guests find the decor dated for a luxury hotel, although overall feedback remains very positive. As of October 2026, the 38th-floor Marco Polo Lounge is undergoing refurbishment, with reopening expected in December. We’d skip it if modern design or an uninterrupted hotel-bar experience tops your list.
