#5 of 9 hotels in Zhongshan by Axel's take. Zhongshan is #2 of 9 places to stay in Taipei. The best hotels in Zhongshan, ranked · Where to stay in Taipei
Axel's take: 8.7/10
Dependable old-school luxury, with generous rooms and a few signs of age. a traditional five-star luxury hotel in central Zhongshan, scored for what it is.
Regent Taipei is a traditional five-star in Zhongshan, and a strong pick if you value spacious rooms, attentive service and a walkable neighborhood over cutting-edge design. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the cleanliness, helpful staff and extensive breakfast buffet. Restaurants, shopping and Zhongshan MRT are within walking distance, while the rooftop pool adds appeal beyond business stays.
The trade-off is uneven freshness: recent guests describe some rooms as beautifully refreshed and others as showing their age. Firm mattresses are another recurring theme, and breakfast can get hectic. Importantly, the hotel says its B3 sauna is closed for maintenance from September 24 through November 30, 2026. We'd choose it for comfortable, service-led city stays, but skip it if soft beds, contemporary interiors or sauna access are essential.
-
