#6 of 9 hotels in Taipei Main Station by Axel's take. Taipei Main Station is #3 of 9 places to stay in Taipei. The best hotels in Taipei Main Station, ranked · Where to stay in Taipei

Axel's take: 7.8/10

A useful central base with generous extras, but rooms are the weak point. A family-friendly budget 3-star in central Taipei, scored for what it is.

Finders Hotel–Fu Qian is a budget 3-star whose strongest features sit outside the bedroom. Its central location makes Ximending, NTU Hospital MRT and Taipei Main Station accessible on foot, while the forest-themed basement lounge offers free snacks, instant noodles and drinks. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise helpful staff, and the children’s playroom makes it particularly practical for families. It’s good value for travelers who spend most days exploring.

The rooms need more careful choosing: some are compact or windowless, and recent Trip.com and Tripadvisor reviews repeatedly mention weak soundproofing and musty smells, with some reporting bathroom mold. Overall cleanliness ratings remain positive, but these complaints warrant caution. Guests also report housekeeping every three days rather than daily. We’d skip it if fresh-air access, quiet nights or consistently polished rooms matter most.

  • Best for: Budget-conscious city explorers; Families with young children; Travelers who appreciate shared lounge space

  • Watch out for: Compact or windowless room categories; Recurring damp smells and soundproofing complaints; Housekeeping reportedly every three days

  • Location: Walkable to Ximending, NTU Hospital MRT and Taipei Main Station; no on-site parking.

  • Rooms: Simple rooms with varying layouts; check window descriptions carefully and expect limited sound insulation.

  • Cleanliness: Generally positive ratings, tempered by recurring recent reports of mustiness and some bathroom mold.

  • Service: Helpful reception staff are a consistent strength across Booking.com and Expedia.

  • Amenities: Free snacks, noodles and drinks, a children’s playroom, self-service laundry and available breakfast.

  • Fees and surprises: Laundry and airport transfers cost extra; confirm breakfast inclusion and the housekeeping schedule.
