QT Sydney is a design-led 5-star boutique hotel in the heritage Gowings and State Theatre buildings. It’s a strong pick for a city break: shopping, theatres and transport are close, while the interiors have considerably more personality than a conventional luxury chain. Recent Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise comfortable beds, generously sized rooms and engaging staff. Gowings, Parlour and spaQ give you good reasons to linger downstairs.

The main compromise is lighting: guests across sites find rooms genuinely dark, not merely atmospheric.
