Axel's take: 7.8/10

Friendly staff and airport convenience make up for rooms that show their age. a practical 3-star airport hotel in mainland Sarasota, scored for what it is.

This 3-star airport hotel is a good pick for a short, practical Sarasota stay—not a Longboat Key beach break. Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the helpful staff, and cleanliness feedback is mostly positive. Free parking, an outdoor pool and an on-site restaurant make the basics easy, while the airport, Ringling Museum and nearby colleges are the main reasons to choose it.

The drawback is room consistency: recent Tripadvisor and Expedia reviews describe dated furnishings, with some reporting unreliable hot water or noisy refrigerators. Those complaints sit alongside plenty of comfortable stays, but we'd choose somewhere newer if fresh interiors matter. Breakfast costs extra unless included in your booking, and Hilton confirms the free airport shuttle runs only from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.—a significant catch for early departures.

• Best for: short airport stays; visitors to nearby colleges and the Ringling; travelers with a car

• Watch out for: dated rooms and occasional maintenance issues; airport shuttle unavailable before 7 a.m.; not a beachfront or Longboat Key hotel

• Location: On mainland Sarasota's North Tamiami Trail, convenient for SRQ and the Ringling; downtown is about six miles away.

• Rooms: Microwaves and refrigerators are useful, but recent reviews flag aging furnishings and occasional plumbing or appliance issues.

• Cleanliness: Mostly positive across Booking.com and Expedia, though a minority of recent guests report lapses.

• Service: Helpful, welcoming front-desk staff are the clearest recurring strength across review sites.

• Amenities: Outdoor pool, hot tub, gym, restaurant, free Wi-Fi and free self-parking; no beach access on site.

• Fees and surprises: Breakfast and pets carry extra charges; complimentary SRQ shuttle operates 7 a.m.–11 p.m.
