Axel's take: 8.2/10

A strong airport stopover, but arrange your own transfer. A practical 3-star Marriott airport hotel, scored for what it is.

This 3-star Courtyard by Marriott is a strong pick for an early flight or a short Sarasota visit, rather than a beach holiday. Expedia and Booking.com guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, comfortable beds and helpful staff, and recent feedback remains largely positive. Free parking and proximity to the Ringling Museum add practical appeal beyond the airport location.

The main catch is clear: despite being across from SRQ, there is no airport shuttle. Breakfast also costs extra, and Marriott lists housekeeping every other day. Room-condition feedback is less consistent than the cleanliness scores suggest: many guests describe updated interiors, while some recent visitors report tired decor or musty smells. We'd choose it for a convenient overnight stay, but skip it if included breakfast, seamless airport transfers or beachfront access are priorities.

• Best for: Early-flight travelers with transport arranged; Short business stays; Ringling Museum visitors with a car

• Watch out for: No airport shuttle; Breakfast costs extra; Some recent reports of musty rooms

• Location: Across from SRQ and near the Ringling Museum; beaches require a drive.

• Rooms: Generally comfortable, with mixed reports of updated interiors versus tired decor and musty smells.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall guest scores, with repeated recent praise for clean rooms.

• Service: Helpful, welcoming staff are a consistent strength; housekeeping is scheduled every other day.

• Amenities: Outdoor pool, 24-hour gym and Bistro; confirm pool availability after an August 2026 closure report.

• Fees and surprises: Parking is free; breakfast and pets cost extra, and airport transport must be arranged independently.
