Axel's take: 8.5/10

Spacious downtown suites and a standout breakfast, tempered by extra fees. a mid-range all-suite high-rise in downtown Sarasota, scored for what it is.

This mid-range all-suite high-rise is a strong pick for enjoying downtown Sarasota without squeezing everyone into a standard room. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise spacious suites, cleanliness and friendly staff, with the made-to-order breakfast a particular strength. Restaurants and shops are walkable, and the eighth-floor outdoor pool adds bay and city views. It delivers well on the Embassy Suites promise of space and useful included extras.

The main catch is the bill beyond the room: Hilton confirms a mandatory destination charge, and parking costs extra. Guests on multiple sites dislike those additions, even with the destination charge’s food-and-beverage credit. Some also report worn furnishings, while July Tripadvisor reviews describe long elevator waits. We'd skip it for a beachfront vacation or if avoiding extra fees matters more than suite space.

• Best for: families wanting suite space; downtown dining and arts trips; travelers who value a substantial breakfast

• Watch out for: mandatory destination charge and paid parking; not beachfront; reported elevator waits during busy periods

• Location: Walkable downtown dining and shopping; beaches require a separate trip.

• Rooms: Spacious suites are a consistent strength, though some guests report worn furnishings and maintenance issues.

• Cleanliness: Recent reviews are strongly positive overall, despite occasional housekeeping complaints.

• Service: Staff earn frequent praise; some guests describe inconsistent front-desk problem handling.

• Amenities: Made-to-order breakfast, evening reception, eighth-floor outdoor pool, restaurant and gym; Hilton lists no airport shuttle.

• Fees and surprises: Mandatory destination charge includes a food-and-beverage credit and bicycle rental; covered self-parking and pets carry additional fees.
