Axel's take: 8.0/10

A practical Congonhas stopover, with airport convenience stronger than room consistency. a no-frills 3-star across from Congonhas Airport, scored for what it is.

Ibis São Paulo Congonhas is a no-frills 3-star whose strongest selling point is walking to the terminal via the pedestrian bridge. We'd pick it for an early departure or overnight connection. Expedia and Booking.com guests repeatedly praise the location, helpful staff and breakfast; overall feedback is solid for a simple airport hotel. The restaurant and 24-hour bar make short stays easier.

Room upkeep is less consistent: recent Accor, Tripadvisor and Expedia reviews mention tired interiors, musty smells and bathroom maintenance or cleaning lapses, alongside plenty of clean-room reports. Check-in queues also recur. Congonhas Airport expansion is ongoing, with vehicle-access changes introduced in October 2026; allow extra time if arriving by car. We'd skip it for a longer leisure stay or if fresh interiors matter more than airport access.

• Best for: early departures from Congonhas; overnight flight connections; short business stays

• Watch out for: uneven room and bathroom upkeep; check-in queues at busy times; airport construction and vehicle-access changes

• Location: Pedestrian-bridge access to Congonhas is the main reason to book.

• Rooms: Simple and functional, but tired interiors and musty smells recur in recent feedback.

• Cleanliness: Broadly positive ratings, tempered by repeated bathroom-cleaning and dampness complaints.

• Service: Staff earn frequent praise, though check-in can bottleneck.

• Amenities: Restaurant, 24-hour bar, free Wi-Fi and paid indoor parking; breakfast starts at 4 a.m.

• Fees and surprises: Check whether breakfast is included; parking and pets cost extra. Nearby airport expansion affects road access.
