Axel's take: 9.1/10

Bold design and genuinely attentive service make Unique more than an architectural statement. a five-star design hotel near Ibirapuera Park, scored for what it is.

Hotel Unique is a five-star design hotel near Ibirapuera Park, and a strong pick if you want personality without sacrificing comfort. The curved building and porthole windows deliver the visual drama; recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the attentive staff, comfortable rooms and meticulous cleaning. Skye’s rooftop restaurant, red pool and skyline views give you a compelling reason to spend an evening in-house. Room renovations unveiled in 2025 help keep the interiors competitive.

The trade-off is atmosphere: the rooftop attracts outside visitors, so expect a social destination rather than a private retreat. Entry-level Deluxe rooms measure 30 square meters—comfortable, not palatial—and some guests find the corridors too dark. Check breakfast inclusion and service charges before booking. We’d choose it for a design-led city break, but skip it if quiet, traditional luxury is the priority.

• Best for: architecture and design enthusiasts; couples on a city break; travelers who enjoy a lively rooftop

• Watch out for: rooftop shared with outside visitors; dim corridors and elevators; breakfast and service-charge extras

• Location: Jardim Paulista location near Ibirapuera Park; useful for park visits rather than a Paulista Avenue doorstep.

• Rooms: Distinctive porthole windows and comfortable beds; Deluxe rooms start at 30 square meters, with renovated floors unveiled in 2025.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia, including recent guest reports.

• Service: Warm, personalized attention earns repeated praise; occasional rooftop-service complaints are exceptions to a strong overall picture.

• Amenities: Rooftop red pool and Skye restaurant, plus a heated indoor pool, gym, saunas and massage treatments.

• Fees and surprises: Expedia lists service and city charges; breakfast and valet parking may cost extra depending on the package.
