A comfortable airport stop with a rooftop pool, but confirm your shuttle. a modern, design-focused mid-range airport hotel, scored for what it is.

This modern, design-focused mid-range hotel is a strong pick for an airport stop or business trip in Belén. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise clean, comfortable rooms and helpful staff; Tripadvisor guests also highlight the rooftop pool and bar. The Cityzen complex adds food trucks, restaurants and coffee within easy walking distance, making a short stay less dependent on the hotel restaurant.

The main catch is airport transport. Marriott advertises a complimentary shuttle on request, but guest reports and published operating hours differ: confirm both directions and your exact flight time, especially for early departures. Breakfast earns plenty of praise but is not automatically included. We'd choose it for a comfortable night around a flight, rather than as a walk-out-the-door base for central San José sightseeing.

• Best for: Airport stopovers; Business travelers in Belén; Travelers wanting a pool between flights

• Watch out for: Confirm shuttle hours and advance arrangements; Breakfast costs extra unless included in your booking; Not a central San José sightseeing base

• Location: In the Cityzen business complex near SJO, with several dining options on foot.

• Rooms: Modern and comfortable; room condition and beds receive broad praise.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall feedback across Booking.com and Expedia, despite occasional exceptions.

• Service: Recent reviews largely praise friendly, helpful staff.

• Amenities: Rooftop outdoor pool and bar, fitness center, restaurants and complimentary parking.

• Fees and surprises: Breakfast and pets carry extra charges; airport shuttle is complimentary but requires coordination.
