#2 of 2 hotels in Santa Ana & Lindora by Axel's take. Santa Ana & Lindora is #8 of 8 places to stay in San Jose, Costa Rica. The best hotels in Santa Ana & Lindora, ranked · Where to stay in San Jose, Costa Rica

Axel's take: 8.7/10

A strong business base with comfortable rooms, helpful staff and breakfast included. a contemporary mid-range business hotel in Santa Ana, scored for what it is.

Aloft is a contemporary mid-range business hotel in Santa Ana’s Forum 2 district, not downtown San José. It’s a strong pick for business trips or a comfortable stop before onward travel. Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor guests consistently praise clean rooms, comfortable beds and helpful staff. Restaurants and shops within walking distance add convenience, while complimentary breakfast and parking make it good value for its class. An outdoor pool, gym and sociable bar round out the offering.

The trade-off is the commercial setting: this is a practical base rather than somewhere to experience the capital on foot. Airport journeys can stretch with traffic, and Marriott explicitly says there is no hotel shuttle. Some guests describe dated finishes or minor maintenance lapses, though the overall feedback remains strongly positive. We’d skip it for downtown sightseeing or a resort-style stay.

  • Best for: business travelers visiting Santa Ana; travelers with a rental car; short stays before onward travel

  • Watch out for: commercial location outside downtown; no hotel airport shuttle; some dated finishes

  • Location: Forum 2 business district, with restaurants and shops nearby; airport transfers need traffic allowance.

  • Rooms: Comfortable beds and generous space earn praise; some guests note dated finishes and minor maintenance issues.

  • Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor feedback.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful staff attract repeated praise across review sites.

  • Amenities: Outdoor pool, gym, restaurant, bar, free Wi-Fi and complimentary breakfast.

  • Fees and surprises: On-site parking is complimentary, subject to availability; airport transport must be arranged separately.
