Axel's take: 8.2/10

A strong downtown base for pool time and walkable evenings, rather than luxury. A full-service 4-star downtown resort with a large pool courtyard, scored for what it is.

Hilton Palm Springs is a full-service 4-star resort whose strongest assets are practical: a walkable downtown location, spacious rooms and a generous pool courtyard. We'd pick it for an easy Palm Springs break rather than a luxury escape. Expedia and Booking.com guests consistently praise cleanliness, comfortable accommodation and friendly staff, while Tripadvisor reviews reinforce the appeal of the pool and nearby restaurants. The complimentary airport shuttle is another useful extra.

The trade-offs are paid parking, breakfast that costs extra unless included, and occasional uneven service rather than a broader pattern of unhappy stays. Hilton scheduled a full renovation for completion in mid-2026, but we couldn't verify that it finished; confirm the current work status before booking. It's a strong choice for downtown sightseeing and pool afternoons. We'd skip it if polished luxury service or boutique character is the priority.

• Best for: Couples exploring downtown; Families wanting pool time; Convention visitors

• Watch out for: Parking and breakfast cost extra; Occasional uneven service; Renovation completion unverified

• Location: Walkable to downtown restaurants, shops and the casino; convenient for the convention center.

• Rooms: Spacious and generally comfortable, with beds and room size earning repeated praise.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent Expedia reviews and Booking.com guest feedback.

• Service: Usually friendly and helpful, with occasional reports of less attentive restaurant or bar service.

• Amenities: Outdoor pool, fitness center, dining, Elements Spa and a complimentary airport shuttle on request.

• Fees and surprises: Parking, breakfast and pets carry charges; confirm renovation status and any incidental hold before arrival.
