Axel's take: 7.4/10

A practical airport-area stay, with helpful staff but some wear. a no-frills 3-star near Norfolk airport, scored for what it is.

This no-frills 3-star near Norfolk airport is a sensible pick for a short, car-based stay. Free breakfast and parking, plus in-room microwaves and refrigerators, cover the useful basics. Recent Expedia and HotelPlanner guests repeatedly praise helpful staff and clean rooms. We'd choose it for convenience and value rather than polished surroundings.

The main compromise is condition: guests on both sites describe rooms that could use updating, while some Expedia reviews flag missed cleaning details and uneven breakfast quality. The advertised heated indoor pool was reported closed for repairs in May 2026; reopening wasn't confirmed in the evidence available, so check before booking around it. We'd skip it for a walkable downtown break or a trip where pool time is essential.

• Best for: airport-area overnight stays; budget-conscious travelers with a car; travelers bringing pets

• Watch out for: worn rooms and dated finishes; occasional housekeeping misses; confirm indoor pool availability

• Location: Convenient to I-64 and Norfolk airport; better suited to driving than downtown sightseeing on foot.

• Rooms: Useful microwaves and mini-fridges, but recurring comments about wear and needed updates.

• Cleanliness: Mostly praised in recent reviews, with some reports of overlooked dust and vacuuming.

• Service: Helpful, accommodating staff are a repeated strength, despite occasional front-desk complaints.

• Amenities: Free breakfast, Wi-Fi and parking, plus a gym; advertised indoor pool availability needs checking.

• Fees and surprises: An incidentals deposit and pet fees apply; airport shuttle information conflicts across listings, so confirm directly.
