Axel's take: 6.1/10

Convenient for the naval base, but inconsistent housekeeping makes this a cautious pick. a basic 2-star motel near Naval Station Norfolk, scored for what it is.

This basic 2-star motel earns its place mainly through proximity to Naval Station Norfolk. We'd consider it for a short, budget-minded base visit, not a Norfolk vacation. Breakfast, parking and Wi-Fi are included, and rooms have microwaves and refrigerators. Several 2026 Expedia guests praise spacious rooms and friendly staff, so the picture isn't uniformly poor.

The catch is consistency: Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor guests report dirty floors, poorly cleaned bathrooms or stained linens, alongside positive cleanliness reports. Renovations have improved some rooms, but June 2026 feedback still describes a run-down exterior. Renovation work was reported in 2025; whether it continues is unconfirmed. Don't count on the advertised pool—guests report it unavailable. We'd skip it for a longer stay or if dependable housekeeping is non-negotiable.

• Best for: short, budget-minded naval-base visits; travelers prioritizing base access over polish

• Watch out for: inconsistent housekeeping; uneven room condition; pool availability not reliable

• Location: Convenient for Naval Station Norfolk and a short drive from Old Dominion University.

• Rooms: Spacious by several accounts, with microwaves and refrigerators; updated rooms coexist with reports of wear.

• Cleanliness: Mixed: clean-room praise sits alongside recurring dirty-floor, bathroom and linen complaints.

• Service: Frequently praised as friendly and helpful, though some guests report poor handling of housekeeping problems.

• Amenities: Breakfast, Wi-Fi, parking and a gym are listed; guest reports undermine older pool listings.

• Fees and surprises: Laundry costs extra; confirm renovation status and pool availability directly before booking.
