Axel's take: 8.3/10

Roomy suites and reliable basics make a strong airport-area base, but transport costs extra. A budget-friendly, limited-service all-suite hotel near Norfolk Airport, scored for what it is.

This limited-service all-suite hotel is a strong pick for families and short Norfolk stays where space matters more than atmosphere. Recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, comfortable beds and helpful staff; Booking.com feedback also favors the spacious suites. Included hot breakfast, in-room microwaves and refrigerators, an indoor pool and a gym make it a practical package for its class.

The main catch is getting around: this is a commercial-road base, not a downtown or beachfront stay. Despite shuttle claims elsewhere, IHG explicitly lists no airport shuttle, and parking carries a daily charge. A few guests mention maintenance or housekeeping misses, but those do not outweigh the broadly positive recent feedback. We'd skip it for a car-free sightseeing trip; for travelers who want room to spread out near the airport, it delivers.

• Best for: Families wanting extra room; Airport-area overnight stays; Business travelers with a car

• Watch out for: No airport shuttle; Daily parking charge; Car-oriented location

• Location: Near the airport and major highways; better for driving than walkable sightseeing.

• Rooms: Spacious suites with microwaves and refrigerators; comfortable beds earn repeated praise.

• Cleanliness: Recent feedback is predominantly positive, with occasional housekeeping misses.

• Service: Helpful, welcoming staff are a consistent strength, despite some isolated check-in complaints.

• Amenities: Included hot breakfast, indoor pool, gym and free Wi-Fi cover the essentials.

• Fees and surprises: IHG confirms paid parking and no airport shuttle, contrary to some third-party descriptions.
