Axel's take: 8.6/10

A strong budget pick for clean suites and useful extras, provided you’re driving. a budget all-suite chain hotel in Chesapeake’s Greenbrier area, scored for what it is.

This budget all-suite hotel is in Chesapeake’s Greenbrier area, not downtown Norfolk, and we’d shortlist it for a practical, good-value stay. Its operator announced a completed renovation in March 2025, covering rooms and public spaces. Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise clean, comfortable rooms, helpful staff and the included hot breakfast. Sofa seating, microwaves and refrigerators make the suites useful for families and longer visits.

The main compromise is location: this is a driving base for Hampton Roads, not a walkable city break or beachfront stay. The outdoor pool operates only from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. Some Tripadvisor guests describe uneven check-in service, although positive staff reports dominate overall. A mandatory deposit and restrictions on prepaid payment cards also merit checking. We’d skip it if beach access or downtown nightlife is the priority.

• Best for: families traveling by car; Greenbrier business trips; value-minded Hampton Roads visitors

• Watch out for: Driving needed for downtown Norfolk and the beach; Outdoor pool is summer-only; Mandatory deposit and payment-card restrictions

• Location: Greenbrier shopping and business area in Chesapeake; better suited to drivers than city explorers.

• Rooms: Renovated suites with sofa seating, microwaves and refrigerators; guests frequently praise comfort and space.

• Cleanliness: Strong recent praise across Expedia and Tripadvisor, without a dominant recurring cleanliness complaint.

• Service: Helpful staff are a consistent strength, tempered by some reports of unfriendly or inflexible check-in.

• Amenities: Included hot breakfast, Wi-Fi, free parking, fitness room and a seasonal outdoor pool.

• Fees and surprises: Mandatory card deposit; certain prepaid cards and payment-app cards are not accepted; official check-in is 4 p.m.
