#6 of 9 hotels in Le Port by Axel's take. Le Port is #3 of 6 places to stay in Nice. The best hotels in Le Port, ranked · Where to stay in Nice

Axel's take: 7.8/10

A comfortable family base with helpful staff, but not an Old Town address. a practical, family-friendly 4-star outside Nice's Old Town, scored for what it is.

This is a practical, family-friendly 4-star rather than a characterful Riviera retreat. We'd pick it for comfortable rooms, useful transport links and a rooftop pool between sightseeing trips. Recent Accor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise welcoming staff, comfortable beds and cleanliness, while breakfast generally gets good feedback. It makes more sense for families happy to use the tram than travelers paying for atmosphere on their doorstep.

The name is the main trap: you're outside the Old Town, roughly a 20-minute walk away, with the beach farther still. Room condition is uneven, with refreshed interiors alongside reports of worn furnishings. Guests also mention limited, uncomfortable pool loungers and occasional long lift waits. We'd skip it for a romantic Old Town stay or a beach-first holiday; for a straightforward city base, it delivers reasonably well.

Best for: families using public transport; sightseers wanting a rooftop pool; travelers who prefer chain-hotel practicality
Watch out for: outside the Old Town despite the name; uneven room condition; limited pool loungers and occasional lift queues
Location: Tram nearby; allow roughly 20 minutes on foot to the Old Town and longer to the beach.
Rooms: Comfortable beds and useful family layouts; refurbishment and wear vary between rooms.
Cleanliness: Generally praised by recent guests, though housekeeping feedback is not uniformly positive.
Service: Friendly, helpful staff are the most consistent strength across recent reviews.
Amenities: Outdoor rooftop pool, Mediterranean restaurant, bar and fitness center; not a beachfront property.
Fees and surprises: Public parking opposite costs extra; check whether breakfast is included in your booking.
