Axel's take: 7.7/10

A practical airport base with good housekeeping, but uneven reception and uncertain leisure facilities. a renovated 4-star business hotel near Mumbai airport, scored for what it is.

Kohinoor Continental is a renovated 4-star business hotel in Andheri East, strongest for airport stopovers and nearby work trips. We'd pick it for convenience rather than luxury: Chakala metro is steps away, and recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean, comfortable rooms, helpful housekeeping and good food. The hotel confirms upgraded interiors, though that doesn't make every part of the experience equally polished.

Reception is the weak spot: several guests describe unhelpful handling of check-in or room requests, alongside plenty of positive service reports. Confirm a non-smoking room explicitly, as cigarette smells recur in feedback. Don't book for swimming: a 2026 guest reports the pool was replaced by a banquet venue, despite older listings still advertising it. We'd skip it for a pool-focused break or sightseeing centered on South Mumbai.

• Best for: airport stopovers; Andheri East business trips; travelers who want nearby metro access

• Watch out for: pool reported removed despite outdated listings; uneven reception and room-request handling; smoking-room allocation and cigarette smells

• Location: Steps from Chakala metro and convenient for the airport; better for Andheri business than South Mumbai sightseeing.

• Rooms: Renovation is confirmed by the hotel; recent guests generally find rooms comfortable and well maintained.

• Cleanliness: Housekeeping earns repeated recent praise, although cigarette odors appear in some room complaints.

• Service: Many warm staff reports, but reception and handling of room requests are less consistent.

• Amenities: Restaurants, bar, gym and Wi-Fi; treat the advertised swimming pool as unavailable unless directly reconfirmed.

• Fees and surprises: Parking is listed as free; breakfast inclusion varies, and Booking.com lists a marriage-proof requirement for couples—confirm directly.
