#6 of 9 hotels in Quartier Latin & the Village by Axel's take. Quartier Latin & the Village is #5 of 6 places to stay in Montreal. The best hotels in Quartier Latin & the Village, ranked · Where to stay in Montreal

Axel's take: 7.9/10

A practical Montreal base with clean rooms, helpful staff and some cramped quarters. A no-frills downtown budget hotel near Berri-UQAM metro, scored for what it is.

Quality Inn Centre-Ville is a no-frills budget hotel that makes sense for travelers spending their days exploring Montreal. Berri-UQAM metro is a few minutes away, and the Latin Quarter is close by. We'd pick it for the basics: recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean rooms and friendly staff, while Booking.com feedback reinforces those strengths. Included breakfast and coffee help make it good value, rather than somewhere to linger.

The main compromise is room choice: small rooms recur in reviews, and some basement rooms have disappointing daylight and outlooks. Breakfast satisfies many guests but strikes others as basic and repetitive. Ask for an above-ground room if light matters, and confirm step-free entry before booking: Tripadvisor guests describe entrance stairs despite the hotel's accessibility listing. We'd skip it for spacious accommodation or effortless mobility access.

  • Best for: Budget-conscious city explorers; Car-free sightseeing breaks; Solo travelers and couples

  • Watch out for: Small rooms and limited daylight in some basement rooms; Entrance stairs; confirm accessible entry; Paid parking nearby, without in-and-out privileges

  • Location: A few minutes from Berri-UQAM metro, with convenient access to the Latin Quarter and downtown sights.

  • Rooms: Generally comfortable but often compact; request an above-ground room for a better chance of daylight.

  • Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent Expedia reviews and Booking.com's guest feedback.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful reception staff earn repeated praise across multiple sites.

  • Amenities: Choice confirms included hot breakfast, coffee, Wi-Fi and an exercise room; breakfast reviews vary.

  • Fees and surprises: A refundable damage deposit applies; Choice lists paid underground parking 50 metres away with no in-and-out privileges.
