Axel's take: 8.5/10

A strong sightseeing base with clean rooms, helpful staff and breakfast included. a straightforward 3-star city hotel near Berri-UQAM, scored for what it is.

This straightforward 3-star near Berri-UQAM is a strong pick for exploring Montreal without a car. Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor guests consistently praise clean, comfortable rooms and genuinely helpful staff. The included hot breakfast earns unusually warm feedback for a simple chain hotel, and Old Montreal is within walking distance. We'd choose it for practical comfort and convenience rather than boutique character.

The compromises are mostly logistical: recent Expedia guests describe crowded breakfast seating, while parking costs extra and the hotel says spaces depend on availability. Marriott lists housekeeping every other day. Tripadvisor guests differ on the surrounding streets: some dislike the busy setting and visible homelessness, while others explicitly report feeling safe. We'd skip it if you want a quiet, polished neighborhood or effortless parking.

• Best for: sightseers traveling without a car; families wanting breakfast included; travelers prioritizing clean, practical comfort

• Watch out for: paid parking with limited availability; crowded breakfast seating; housekeeping every other day

• Location: Near Berri-UQAM and walkable to Old Montreal; opinions on the immediate streets are mixed.

• Rooms: Simple, comfortable rooms; guests frequently praise the beds, with larger suites available.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor feedback.

• Service: Helpful, welcoming front-desk staff receive repeated praise across sites.

• Amenities: Included hot breakfast, a 24-hour gym and Wi-Fi cover the practical essentials.

• Fees and surprises: Parking is extra and subject to availability; routine housekeeping is every other day.
