#7 of 9 hotels in East Town & Lakefront by Axel's take. East Town & Lakefront is #1 of 5 places to stay in Milwaukee. The best hotels in East Town & Lakefront, ranked · Where to stay in Milwaukee

Axel's take: 8.6/10

A strong downtown choice for friendly service and clean rooms, with some aging edges. a full-service 4-star in downtown Milwaukee, scored for what it is.

This full-service 4-star in Milwaukee’s East Town is a strong pick for a city break or business trip, especially without a car. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise welcoming staff, clean rooms and comfortable beds. The RiverWalk, Public Market and downtown restaurants are within walking distance, while East Town Kitchen + Bar gives you an easy option downstairs. It delivers dependable comfort rather than standout luxury.

The trade-offs are expensive valet parking and rooms that some recent Tripadvisor guests find more dated than the inviting lobby. Concierge-lounge feedback is mixed, with limited weekend offerings and a September 2026 report of breakfast moving to the restaurant; confirm the current benefits before paying extra. We’d skip it if fresh design or generous included extras matter more than service and location.

  • Best for: car-free downtown weekends; business travelers; Summerfest visitors

  • Watch out for: expensive valet parking; some aging room decor; variable concierge-lounge offerings

  • Location: Walkable East Town base near the RiverWalk, Public Market and restaurants; the address is on Milwaukee Street.

  • Rooms: Comfortable beds and generally well-kept rooms, though some recent guests describe dated decor.

  • Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Tripadvisor, Expedia and Booking.com guest feedback.

  • Service: Warm, helpful front-desk staff are the clearest recurring highlight.

  • Amenities: Restaurant/bar, fitness center and club lounge; Marriott does not currently list a pool or spa.

  • Fees and surprises: Valet and breakfast cost extra; Marriott guarantees complimentary in-room Wi-Fi for Bonvoy members booking direct.
