#7 of 9 hotels in Porta Venezia by Axel's take. Porta Venezia is #7 of 11 places to stay in Milan. The best hotels in Porta Venezia, ranked · Where to stay in Milan

Axel's take: 7.1/10

Useful pod privacy and location, but bathroom upkeep lets it down. A budget capsule-style hostel near Porta Venezia, scored for what it is.

Ostelzzz is a budget capsule-style hostel, not a hotel with private rooms: enclosed sleeping pods sit within shared dormitories. It’s a reasonable pick for a short Milan stop if you want more privacy than an open bunk. Lima metro and Corso Buenos Aires are close, and Expedia and Trip.com guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, convenient transport and the breakfast.

The weak point is the shared facilities. Recent Hostelworld and Trip.com guests describe dirty bathrooms, faulty doors and maintenance problems, while noise carries through the pods. Plenty of guests still report clean cabins and satisfactory stays, so the picture is uneven rather than uniformly poor. Towels cost extra, and breakfast inclusion varies by booking. We’d consider it for a brief budget stay, but skip it if reliable bathroom cleanliness, quiet or generous luggage space matters most.

  • Best for: Solo travelers on a budget; Short stays with light luggage; Travelers wanting enclosed dorm beds

  • Watch out for: Uneven shared-bathroom cleanliness and maintenance; Noise carries between pods; Compact sleeping and luggage space

  • Location: Near Corso Buenos Aires, with Lima and Porta Venezia transport links within walking distance.

  • Rooms: Enclosed pods offer visual privacy, not soundproofing; space and mattress comfort receive mixed feedback.

  • Cleanliness: Many guests find cabins clean, but dirty shared bathrooms recur across review sites.

  • Service: Helpful reception staff are a consistent strength, though problem handling is not universally praised.

  • Amenities: 24-hour reception, Wi-Fi, lobby bar and breakfast; bathrooms remain shared.

  • Fees and surprises: The official site charges extra for towels; confirm breakfast inclusion and applicable city tax.
