#6 of 8 hotels in Navigli by Axel's take. Navigli is #5 of 11 places to stay in Milan. The best hotels in Navigli, ranked · Where to stay in Milan

Axel's take: 8.2/10

A strong Navigli base with welcoming staff, but check renovation progress before booking. an independent 4-star in Milan’s lively Navigli district, scored for what it is.

Art Hotel Navigli is an independent 4-star that makes most sense for travelers who want Milan’s canal-side restaurants and bars nearby. It’s a strong pick for location and friendly service rather than flawless four-star polish. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the helpful staff, spacious rooms and varied breakfast, while Booking.com’s strong cleanliness ratings support the generally positive picture. The contemporary art collection adds character, and Porta Genova metro is a short walk away.

The caveat is condition and consistency. Guests reported renovation work from June through August 2026, including reception-area disruption; completion is not confirmed. Some recent reviews also describe ineffective air-conditioning and tired rooms, though others report comfortable, cool accommodation. The rooftop wellness area is a useful extra, not a reason alone to book. We’d skip it for a stay where reliable cooling and polished facilities are non-negotiable.

  • Best for: couples exploring Navigli; restaurant and nightlife seekers; travelers who value helpful staff

  • Watch out for: confirm completion of reception-area renovations; uneven air-conditioning reports; some rooms feel tired

  • Location: Steps from Navigli dining and nightlife, with Porta Genova metro roughly five minutes away.

  • Rooms: Often praised as spacious and comfortable; condition and cooling receive mixed reports.

  • Cleanliness: Strong overall ratings and frequent praise outweigh occasional complaints about less thorough cleaning.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful staff are among the most consistent strengths across sites.

  • Amenities: Breakfast, a bar, roof garden, gym, sauna and Turkish bath; wellness upkeep gets mixed feedback.

  • Fees and surprises: Garage parking costs extra; summer 2026 renovation reports warrant checking current disruption directly.
