#6 of 9 hotels in Duomo & Centro Storico by Axel's take. Duomo & Centro Storico is #1 of 11 places to stay in Milan. The best hotels in Duomo & Centro Storico, ranked · Where to stay in Milan

Axel's take: 8.5/10

A strong central Milan base, with useful kitchenettes and a few noise caveats. a central 4-star aparthotel with kitchenettes, scored for what it is.

Duomo Hotel & Apartments is a 4-star aparthotel whose strongest selling point is being a short walk from the cathedral, Galleria and metro. We'd pick it for sightseeing with the convenience of a kitchenette and a staffed reception. Booking.com and Tripadvisor guests consistently praise the location, helpful staff and clean, comfortable rooms; Expedia's recent feedback largely agrees. It's a practical city base rather than a hotel to book for extensive leisure facilities.

Choose your room carefully: categories differ in size, and some family-room guests find the sofa beds less comfortable than the main beds. Street noise can reach lower floors. A July 2026 guest reported disruptive hotel renovation noise; an August supplier update describes a newly added suite floor, but completion of all work isn't confirmed. Ask about construction before booking. We'd skip it if guaranteed quiet is essential.

  • Best for: first-time Milan sightseers; couples wanting kitchenette convenience; families prioritizing a central base

  • Watch out for: street noise on lower floors; variable sofa-bed comfort; confirm renovation status before booking

  • Location: A short walk to the Duomo, Galleria, La Scala and central metro connections.

  • Rooms: Kitchenettes add flexibility; room sizes vary, and some guests criticize sofa-bed comfort.

  • Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com, Tripadvisor and recent Expedia feedback.

  • Service: Helpful reception staff earn repeated praise; the official site confirms a 24-hour desk.

  • Amenities: Daily housekeeping, free Wi-Fi and breakfast at the partner restaurant on floor -1.

  • Fees and surprises: City tax and optional extras apply; July renovation noise was reported, with a new suite floor described in August. Confirm remaining work.
