#5 of 9 hotels in Paseo de Montejo by Axel's take. Paseo de Montejo is #4 of 7 places to stay in Merida. The best hotels in Paseo de Montejo, ranked · Where to stay in Merida

Axel's take: 8.3/10

A comfortable, well-placed city base, but evening entertainment can compromise sleep. a modern 4-star business hotel in the Paseo 60 dining complex, scored for what it is.

This modern 4-star in the Paseo 60 complex is a strong pick for convention trips and travelers who want restaurants close at hand. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise the location, helpful staff and comfortable, clean rooms; breakfast also earns frequent compliments. You're near Paseo de Montejo and the convention center, with a rooftop pool for cooling off between outings.

The main catch is noise: Tripadvisor and other guest reviews repeatedly describe music from the plaza and nearby events reaching bedrooms at night. Ask for a room away from the entertainment area, though street-facing rooms aren't immune. The pool and gym are compact rather than resort-style. We'd choose it for practical comfort and dining convenience, but skip it if quiet nights or historic boutique character are priorities.

  • Best for: convention and business travelers; couples who want restaurants nearby; travelers who prefer modern chain comfort

  • Watch out for: nighttime music and event noise; compact pool and gym; some reports of musty smells and maintenance issues

  • Location: Within Paseo 60, near Paseo de Montejo and a short walk from the convention center.

  • Rooms: Generally comfortable and spacious, but room position matters for nighttime noise.

  • Cleanliness: Strong overall ratings, with scattered complaints about worn towels and musty smells.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful staff receive consistent praise; occasional check-in problems appear.

  • Amenities: Rooftop outdoor pool, compact gym, restaurant, breakfast buffet and free Wi-Fi.

  • Fees and surprises: The hotel lists free off-site parking; breakfast inclusion depends on the booking, and dogs incur a nightly fee.
