#6 of 7 hotels in Docklands by Axel's take. Docklands is #8 of 9 places to stay in Melbourne. The best hotels in Docklands, ranked · Where to stay in Melbourne

Axel's take: 7.9/10

Good Docklands comfort and pool facilities, let down by uneven housekeeping. a modern 4-star hotel on the quieter Docklands waterfront, scored for what it is.

Vibe Hotel Melbourne Docklands is a modern 4-star that makes a good base for stadium visits and a quieter city break. The free tram stops outside, while The District’s shops and waterfront restaurants are nearby. The heated outdoor rooftop pool, spa and gym are meaningful extras at this level. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, comfortable rooms and easy transport connections.

The catch is consistency rather than a lack of facilities. Although guest ratings are broadly positive, reviews across Tripadvisor, Expedia and Trip.com describe recurring lapses in bathroom cleaning, dust and worn surfaces; several also mention dim room lighting. Parking is paid and off-site, roughly 300 metres away, with restricted entry and exit. It’s a good fit for tram-friendly travelers, but we’d skip it if meticulous housekeeping or a central-CBD doorstep matters most.

Best for: Marvel Stadium visitors; families who will use the pool; travelers comfortable using trams
Watch out for: uneven housekeeping and bathroom cleaning; dim lighting in some rooms; paid off-site parking with entry restrictions
Location: Quieter waterfront setting, with free trams outside and shops nearby; not a central-CBD doorstep.
Rooms: Generally comfortable, with city or harbour views in selected categories; dim lighting and wear draw complaints.
Cleanliness: Positive overall ratings, but repeated reports of dust and inadequately cleaned bathrooms warrant caution.
Service: Friendly, helpful reception staff are a recurring strength across guest-review sites.
Amenities: Heated outdoor rooftop pool, spa, steam room, 24-hour gym, restaurant and free Wi-Fi.
Fees and surprises: Parking costs extra unless included in your booking, is about 300 metres away, and permits a single entry and exit.
