The Kinson is an apartment-style hotel on Melbourne’s St Kilda Road, and we’d choose it for space and practicality rather than its advertised five stars. Kitchenettes, comfortable beds and balconies in many rooms make it appealing for longer stays. Booking.com and Expedia guests are broadly positive about comfort, helpful staff and value; nearby trams make the city-fringe location workable for sightseeing.
The catch is consistency. Tripadvisor’s much smaller review pool is markedly less positive, and recent complaints across Tripadvisor and Trip.com describe missed cleaning, maintenance faults and slow responses. These aren’t everyone’s experience, but they weaken the luxury claim. An August 2026 guest also reported construction outside their room; ask about current works and room outlook.
