Axel's take: 8.3/10

A strong nightlife base with generous rooms, but quiet luxury isn't its strength. a nightlife-focused luxury boutique hotel overlooking Parque Lleras, scored for what it is.

The Charlee is a luxury boutique hotel for travelers who want El Poblado's restaurants and nightlife on their doorstep. We'd pick it for spacious rooms, the panoramic Envy rooftop and a substantial gym—not for a secluded five-star escape. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, comfortable rooms and breakfast, while cleanliness remains a clear strength across sources.

The catch is sleep: street bars and rooftop music recur in reviews, although some guests find the soundproofing effective. Several recent Expedia guests also describe dim room lighting. The rooftop pool has daytime-only access, so don't picture evening swims. It's a strong choice for sociable couples and friends; we'd skip it for light sleepers, families seeking a quieter setting or anyone expecting hushed luxury.

• Best for: nightlife-focused couples and friends; travelers who prioritize spacious rooms; gym users

• Watch out for: late-night street and rooftop music; dim room lighting; daytime-only pool access

• Location: Opposite Parque Lleras, with restaurants and Provenza nearby; nightlife defines the setting.

• Rooms: Generously sized, with standard rooms listed at 45 square meters; lighting and noise are the main caveats.

• Cleanliness: Consistently strong feedback, including recent praise for immaculate rooms.

• Service: Helpful front-desk and concierge staff earn repeated praise; rooftop service draws occasional criticism.

• Amenities: Envy rooftop, outdoor pool, Real Eatery and a well-equipped gym; Expedia lists pool access until 5 p.m.

• Fees and surprises: Expedia lists paid parking and airport transfers; confirm inclusions and additional charges before arrival.
