Axel's take: 6.1/10

Central and practical, but inconsistent housekeeping makes this budget stay a gamble. a no-frills budget hotel in central Medellín, scored for what it is.

Hotel Natural is a no-frills budget hotel in Medellín’s La Candelaria, best considered for a short, practical downtown stay. Its strongest asset is access to the tram, metro and central sights. Guests also appreciate the plant-filled common areas, parking and helpful staff, though service is not consistently praised. We'd consider it if location and basic accommodation matter more than comfort or polish.

The bigger concern is housekeeping: multiple 2025–2026 reviews report missed cleaning, dirty linen or poorly maintained rooms, alongside some very positive stays. Guests also mention traffic and corridor noise, limited ventilation and rooms that disappoint compared with the photos. Hot water and Wi-Fi attract uneven feedback. We'd skip it for a restful holiday, and travelers needing step-free access should confirm arrangements: upper floors are stairs-only.

• Best for: budget travelers needing downtown access; short stays near public transport

• Watch out for: inconsistent cleaning and room condition; traffic noise and limited ventilation; stairs-only access to upper floors

• Location: Convenient La Candelaria base near tram and metro stops; neighborhood feedback is mixed.

• Rooms: Basic private-bathroom rooms; guests report uneven maintenance, ventilation and hot water.

• Cleanliness: Repeated recent complaints about linen and missed housekeeping, despite some strongly positive stays.

• Service: Helpful staff earn praise, but reception and problem handling receive mixed feedback.

• Amenities: Listings show Wi-Fi, a garden, breakfast, limited free parking and 24-hour reception; no elevator.

• Fees and surprises: Airport transfers and late checkout cost extra; confirm breakfast inclusion and arrival arrangements.
