Axel's take: 8.5/10

A dependable Golden Mile base, stronger on comfort and location than luxury polish. an upscale business hotel in El Poblado’s Golden Mile, scored for what it is.

Estelar Milla de Oro is an upscale business hotel, not the basic three-star its catalog listing suggests. It’s a strong pick for travelers who want spacious rooms and easy walks to shopping and restaurants in El Poblado. Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor guests broadly agree on the essentials: comfortable beds, good cleanliness, helpful staff and a varied breakfast. We’d choose it for a practical, comfortable city stay rather than a special-occasion splurge.

The trade-off is uneven polish. Although the hotel advertises remodeled rooms, some recent Expedia guests still describe tired furnishings or disappointing gym and spa facilities. Tripadvisor reviews also flag occasional slow service and breakfast replenishment. Those complaints remain a minority, but they temper the luxury billing. We’d skip it if contemporary design, consistently slick service or a standout wellness area are priorities.

• Best for: business travelers; shopping-focused city breaks; travelers prioritizing spacious rooms

• Watch out for: uneven room and facility condition; occasional service delays; parking and airport transfers cost extra

• Location: Walkable Golden Mile setting near Oviedo and Santafé malls; the metro is a longer walk.

• Rooms: Generally spacious and comfortable; the hotel advertises remodeling, but some guests still find rooms dated.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall feedback across Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor, with isolated exceptions.

• Service: Usually helpful and professional, though check-in and restaurant service can be inconsistent.

• Amenities: Two restaurants, terrace jacuzzi, spa and gym; recent wellness-facility feedback is mixed.

• Fees and surprises: Budget for parking, airport transfers and pets; confirm whether breakfast is included.
