A practical budget base for Itagüí, less convincing for a sightseeing-first Medellín trip. a simple, budget-friendly hotel in Itagüí’s industrial area, scored for what it is.

Central Plaza is a simple, budget-friendly hotel in Itagüí rather than central Medellín. We’d shortlist it for work trips or travelers happy to trade a tourist-neighborhood address for good value. Booking.com and Expedia show solid overall ratings, with cleanliness a particular strength and staff generally well regarded. The restaurant and rooftop hot tubs add useful extras without turning this into an upscale stay.

The main compromise is the industrial setting: an Expedia guest mentions reversing trucks, and noise appears among Booking.com’s review topics. Ayurá metro station is roughly a 13-minute walk away, so sightseeing involves some travel. Check the exact room category before booking, since some have only a fan rather than air-conditioning. We’d skip it if quiet surroundings or walking straight into Medellín’s visitor nightlife are priorities.

• Best for: budget-conscious travelers; work trips to Itagüí; travelers comfortable using the metro

• Watch out for: industrial surroundings and potential noise; air-conditioning depends on room category; not in central Medellín

• Location: Carrera 50A #81A-15, Itagüí; approximately 13 minutes on foot from Ayurá station.

• Rooms: Straightforward double, twin and triple options; confirm fan-only versus air-conditioned accommodation.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength in aggregate ratings and several recent Expedia reviews.

• Service: Generally praised, although individual experiences are not uniformly positive.

• Amenities: Restaurant, bar, rooftop hot tubs, Wi-Fi and limited free parking.

• Fees and surprises: Confirm breakfast inclusion and applicable VAT; the official site displays accommodation prices before VAT.
