#6 of 9 hotels in Hivernage by Axel's take. Hivernage is #6 of 8 places to stay in Marrakech. The best hotels in Hivernage, ranked · Where to stay in Marrakech

Axel's take: 7.3/10

Go for the location and welcoming staff, not flawless five-star polish. a five-star city hotel in Marrakech’s lively Hivernage district, scored for what it is.

Hivernage is a five-star city hotel that works better as a sightseeing base than a luxury retreat. Its location puts the medina within walking distance, while Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, comfortable beds and a generous breakfast. We'd consider it for a short Marrakech break where exploring and dining out matter more than spending all day at the hotel.

The five-star label needs perspective: recent reviews describe dated bathrooms, uneven maintenance and nighttime music from nearby rooftop venues. The outdoor pool is small and shaded for much of the day. Guests also reported renovation noise during 2026, with workers and building materials still mentioned in September; confirm the current situation before booking. We'd skip it for a quiet spa escape or consistently polished luxury.

  • Best for: couples planning a sightseeing break; travelers who enjoy nearby restaurants and nightlife

  • Watch out for: late-night rooftop music; dated bathrooms and uneven maintenance; renovation disruption reported through September 2026

  • Location: Walkable Hivernage base, roughly 15 minutes from the medina, with nightlife nearby.

  • Rooms: Comfortable beds and good-sized rooms, but dated fittings and soundproofing draw recurring criticism.

  • Cleanliness: Generally positive ratings, with some recent complaints about bathrooms and poolside furnishings.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a recurring strength across booking and review sites.

  • Amenities: Outdoor pool, rooftop venue, restaurant, gym and hammam spa; pool sunshine is limited.

  • Fees and surprises: City tax is payable at the property; airport transfers cost extra, and an incidental deposit may be required.
