Axel's take: 7.9/10

Welcoming staff and a handy location outweigh uneven rooms and modest leisure facilities. an independent 4-star city hotel on the Hivernage–Guéliz border, scored for what it is.

Dellarosa is an independent 4-star city hotel, not a traditional riad or a luxury resort. It’s a good pick for exploring Marrakech from outside the medina, with restaurants nearby and roughly a 20-minute walk to Jemaa el-Fnaa. Booking.com, Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the welcoming, helpful staff. Cleanliness is generally well regarded, and the spacious suites are a stronger draw than the simpler standard rooms.

The compromise is consistency: recent guests mention aging bathrooms, maintenance niggles, variable air-conditioning and noise in some rooms. The shaded courtyard pool suits a cooling dip better than a sunbathing holiday. There’s a hammam and treatment spa, but don’t assume Jacuzzi access is included. We’d choose it for friendly service and sightseeing convenience; skip it if polished four-star finishes, dependable quiet or resort-style facilities are priorities.

• Best for: couples on a sightseeing break; travelers wanting a base outside the medina; families booking a spacious suite

• Watch out for: uneven bathroom maintenance and air-conditioning; noise in some rooms; shaded pool and separately charged spa access

• Location: Between Hivernage and Guéliz, near restaurants and shops; allow roughly 20 minutes on foot to Jemaa el-Fnaa.

• Rooms: Suites earn praise for space, but bathroom condition, cooling and sound insulation vary.

• Cleanliness: Generally a strength across sites, despite occasional housekeeping complaints.

• Service: Friendly, attentive staff are the most consistent reason guests recommend it.

• Amenities: Outdoor courtyard pool, restaurants, bars, hammam, Jacuzzi and gym; one recent Expedia guest reported worn gym equipment.

• Fees and surprises: Expedia lists city tax and a breakage deposit; transfers and spa services cost extra, and breakfast inclusion depends on the booking.
